Who am I ? oh so only the hard questions first !
This review of “good business” very much expresses my highest self in operation, which tends to happen in the corporate sphere and my local community when the opportunity arises:
“Leaders must make it possible for employees to work with joy, to their heart’s content, while responding to the needs of society.” Csikszentmihalyi leverages his definition of “flow”—-the capacity for full engagement in an activity—-to create a blueprint for a workplace in which bringing out the best in workers comes before products and profit. When leaders select and reward employees who find satisfaction at work, they can create an upwardly moral organization.
In this view, leadership is a privilege that requires checking ego in the coatroom and peering into the mirror to ask tough questions.also( same author) : It is as if evolution has built a safety device in our nervous system that allows us to experience full happiness only when we are living at 100%–when we are fully using the physical and mental equipment we have been given.
I've experienced the above 2-3 times and I am driving to experience it again, for longer, as a constant part of my life. I experienced the flow, and the deep relaxation, only when challenged to achieve the best , and it was beautiful…
